Sorry for the lack of updates this week, but I’ve been super busy. And you may see something that has taken up some time.. this new layout! It’s not quite autumn-like where I live yet, but I wanted a change, and this is what happened. What do you think?

I’m making this short and sweet because I’m on a break at work, but I’ll come back tonight and post some pictures of the apartment and of some of my new projects. My crochet needle is getting a work out lately! I’m going to buy new yarn and hopefully some different sized needles this weekend, so there will be more to come definitely.

Sam and I have been thinking about getting a pet. The deposit is about $250 I think, so we’re gonna start saving now. We originally were thinking a puppy, but we both have expensive tastes in dogs :P I love cats, but he isn’t really used to having one around. I think a kitty would be better to start off with, and I think I finally talked him into it! He says as long as I clean the litter box then it’s ok. I’m verrry excited.

Sam and I offically moved in Friday night. Then my parents came and brought some stuff from home. My grandma brought me a whole set of dishes and glasses, and a whooolle lot of appliances and stuff. We need to move our dining room table in, and we’re set. I’ll post pictures when I can get new batteries for my camera. I also have new comics that I’m working on, so I should be posting some of those very soon too!

A lot of my friends went back to school today. It makes me really wish that I was going back too. I only have a year and a half of college under my belt. I just don’t have the money for classes and books right now. Hopefully I can take some classes after Christmas, but it may have to wait until the fall. I would rather be able to save some money first. It would suck to worry about money and work AND classes, so I’ll just be patient. I love my life right now, I have a wonderful job, and I make more money than most of my friends.. so it’s not so bad. I do miss the atmosphere of school though.

I still have a lot of unpacking to do, a list of projects to work on and a lot of my favorite blogs to browse. I hope everyone had a bearable Monday!

You guys that left comments about how bad CuteNews is were right! It is awesome aslong as it’s actually working, but mine decided to quit. It didn’t crash and screw everything up, but it just wouldn’t show any new comments, and it wouldn’t let me make a new post. It had been saying 12 comments for a long time, so I didn’t think about returning new ones, and then I realized that I actually had 8 new comments and that it wouldn’t update anything! Sooooo, I downloaded WordPress and got it installed. I didn’t just use it the first time because I thought it would be more complicated (and I didn’t even know what MySQL required meant. :p) So I set up a MySQL data base with my host, installed everything, customized it, and here it is! I got my custom/clickable emoticon plug in too

ANYWAY, here’s the entry that I TRIED to post a few days ago. (I you wordpress! )

Well, I didn’t make it home to visit my family or to go to that workshop. I actually stayed here and went apartment hunting with my boyfriend again. We decided living with a friend was a bad idea (i didn’t want to to begin with! haha). The guy we were looking with is really cool, but I wanted the apartment to be for me and Sam, not a tagalong. So that kind of worked itself out.

Anyway, we found a place! It was an apartment that I found online as being the best deal, the best location, and the best all around when I first started looking. It was going to cost $35 for each of us to apply, and because of of our credit we thought it was a waste of $70. But we were approved! YAY! 1100 square feet (a good sized everything, including a smaller extra room that we can use as a studio for our art and computer work), we will have cable and AC finially, a nice sized kitchen, a balcony, a view of the lake. We paid a deposit and signed the lease on saturday. We were planning to move in on Saturday (the 18th) but last night we decided to have the lights cut on the Thursday before when we get paid so that we can start moving some stuff in early. We are so excited! We move in a week I already live with him, but this will be a lot different better!!

I lovvvvvve the quilting bee. I’ve been a member for a little over a week, and I can’t believe the number of friends I’ve made. Even if it’s not your thing, I still think you might like to see my Aquarium!

Yaay, I’m excited about the apartment.
