Weigh-In (week #3)
Started: 1/1/08
Starting weight: 165lbs
Current weight: 160lbs
Loss this week: 0lbs
Total loss: 5lbs
Earlier in the week my scale was saying 155lbs, but Sam and I went out for a nice dinner on Friday night. He mentioned that he had never been to ColdStone, and I don’t go there often, but we decided to go so he could check it out. Neither of us even finished our ice cream, but there were enough fatty foods over the weekend to show me that taking diet-breaks leads nowhere. But, the good news is, I didn’t gain any either
Really, it just showed me to keep going and that it’s worth something. Progress, not perfection.

Weigh-In (Week #2)
Started: 1/1/08
Starting weight: 165lbs
Current weight: 160lbs
Loss: 5lbs
Total loss: 5lbs
I haven’t had much cardio this week, but I’ve been really strict about the diet. I’m trying to focus on what I’m eating rather than what I’m not eating. Lucky for me, I love fruits and veggies and soups.
I don’t only want to lose the extra pudge, but I want to be stronger and more flexible. I’ve tried to set a time every evening to do some ab exercises. I have a pilates DVD which I took some of the harder more effective exercises from, and I also found this video on youtube. It’s of Britney Spears (a few years ago before she went nutso) on Ellen showing what kinds of exercises she did everyday. I don’t do quite as many as she says she does
but I’m working up to it

New Year, New Goals
I don’t usually make New Year’s resolutions, but this year I have one big one: to take better care of myself.
I have gained some weight this year, and I’m the biggest that I have ever been basically. Inspired majorly by Christine, I’m going to start doing something about it. Starting today I will add weekly weigh-in updates. I’m hoping that by keeping track of my weight and goals publically I can not only maintain my performance, but also (if it goes well
) hopefully my progress can motivate others.
I’m 5′1″, which means a healthy weight would be somewhere between 110 and 125. Today I weighed in at 165. My ultimate, long-term goal weight is 120, which obviously gives me 45 pounds to lose.
Today I have done well so far with portion control and not pigging out on junk, even though I have been sitting at home doing nothing. This is a good start for me
I also did 30 minutes worth of pilates (10 minutes of flexibility/warm-up, 10 minutes targeting abs and 10 minutes targeting my buns/thighs). More cardio is a must, and I also plan to get some weights.
I care more about how I feel than the number itself though. My main goal is not to be super skinny; it’s to feel healthier overall, and of course I’d also like smaller clothes and a body that I’m more comfortable showing off come bathing suit season
So, the journey begins…
